Aluminum Alloy Magnesium EN AW 5086 is an alloy with high mechanical characteristics, with very good corrosion resistance. Aluminum alloy Magnesium EN AW 5086, is applied in signaling porches, land transport, mines, cisterns, coal dryers, mine boxes, aeronautics, in naval applications such as super structures, rudders, castles, compressed air bottles.
It is used in structures and equipment for shipbuilding (welded components), masts, chemical platforms and storage tanks such as cryogenics, soldier tank trailers and rear hopper soldiers.
Heat treatments:
Annealing: 30 min. at 2 hours at 340º C- 380º C
EN AW-5086 may undergo intercrystalline cracking and corrosion under stress after inadequate heat treatments (welding).
Do not use at more than 65 ºC if you are going to be exposed to aggressive environments.
