Typical applications and uses

Aluminum Alloy Magnesium Silicon EN AW 6063 due to its great ease of extrusion, obtaining adequate mechanical characteristics, correct surface appearance and good coloring when anodizing, has multiple applications. It has mechanical characteristics inferior to 6005 and 6082 alloys but its greater extrusion capacity allows more complex sections.

 

Being used for countless applications is the main alloy for carpentry and architecture products, as well as for standard profiles.

Heat treatments:

Put in solution: 520 ° C of 30 min. 1 hour
Tempering in cold water (40 ° C max.) Fast.
Maturation: State T4, 8 days minimum at 20 ° C.
Artificial maturation: T6 state, 8 hours at 170 ° C or 6 hours at 185 ° C.
Annealing: 1 to 2 hours at 380 ° C - 420 ° C, slow cooling.
Obtaining forged parts: 350 ° C to 500 ° C.
