Aluminum Zinc Alloy

EN AW-7021

Available formats: Sheet metal, plates, bars, tubes and profiles.

Typical applications and uses

Aluminum Alloy Zinc EN AW 7021 is especially recommended for the following applications: Resin transfer molding, Compression molding, Resin injection molding, Blow molding, Thermoforming.

The main alloy addition is zinc and is formulated for primary formation in forged products, it is not recommended for complex shapes and sharp corners. For these applications, we recommend the use of laminated products whenever possible.

Heat treatments:

Short chip alloy with very high strength, less stress than other tooling alloys. This alloy has a moderate resistance to corrosion and is suitable for welding.

Thanks to its high mechanical strength, excellent brightness and dimensional stability during use and processing, it is suitable for creating molds for plastic materials, models, special technical molds and structures for hydraulic applications. It guarantees the minimum porosity in the whole section of the plate.
