Available formats: Sheet metal, plates, bars, tubes and profiles.

Heat treated, tempered and artificially matured T79.
Milled surface precision, roughness Ra 0.4 µm, protected with plastic on both sides.

Typical applications and uses

The rectified Zinc 7021 Alloy Aluminum plate is especially recommended for the following applications: Resin transfer molding, Compression molding, Resin injection molding, Blow molding, Thermoforming.

 

The main alloy addition is zinc and is formulated for primary formation in forged products. Not recommended for complex shapes and sharp corners. For these applications, we recommend the use of laminated products whenever possible.

Heat treatments:

Milled / ground surface finish
Thickness tolerance ± 0.1 mm
Plastic protection on both sides

 

Very low internal tensions. Good shape stability and good homogeneity. High resistance Short chip alloy with very high strength. Less stress than other tooling alloys. This alloy has a moderate resistance to corrosion and is suitable for welding.
