Aluminum Magnesium Alloy

EN AW-5005

Available formats: Sheet metal, plates, bars, tubes and profiles.

Typical applications and uses

In the Aluminum Magnesium Alloy EN AW 5005, the magnesium content of this alloy increases its mechanical characteristics and makes it suitable for subsistence to other alloys. It has medium mechanical characteristics, very good weldability, excellent corrosion resistance and good response to chemical polishing or
electrochemical

Containing magnesium can be laser cut without any problem both anodized and without anodizing.

Heat treatments:

Annealing on acid hardened material: 30 min. at 2 hours and from 330 ° C to 380 ° C, if the minimum hardening before annealing is greater than 20%.
Annealing Restoration: from 1 to 4 hours and from 240 ° C to 280 ° C.
Obtaining forged parts: from 350 ° C to 480 ° C.
