Naval Brass Plate
Available Formats: Plates
Borncesval Naval Brass Plate is commonly known as naval brass due to its resistance to corrosion in seawater and other slightly aggressive environments. The alloy contains 62% of copper and 37% of zinc, with an 1% of tin addition to improve corrosion resistance and a harder and stronger duplex structure to improve mechanical properties.
CZ112 (CW712R) has good resistance levels combined with excellent hot formability.
Typical uses in chemistry and mechanics: the alloy is used for condenser tubes, tube plates and other heat exchange components, mainly for oil refineries and power plants.
Heat treatments:
Key features of Broncesval Naval brass plates, it has very good corrosion resistance in marine environments, excellent hot formability and is applied in marine fittings, tube plates and fasteners for corrosion resistant service.
As key features, it is a copper and zinc alloy with a small addition of tin to help corrosion resistance. The alloy is a single alpha phase and has good ductility.
This naval brass was originally used in marine applications and has good corrosion resistance in moderately polluted river waters and in clean sea waters. The alloy is widely used in heat exchange equipment with moderate operating conditions.
