Typical applications and uses

Broncesval bars, CuZn39Pb3 is mainly used where machining is required. The material is particularly suitable for machine treatment. It has an excellent hot work property.

 

In Germany, CuZn39Pb3 is the reference material for the evaluation of machinability (index 100%).

 

As for corrosion resistance, it has poor resistance to water, various saline solutions and organic fluids compared to a homogeneous? -Brazil.

 

It is not resistant to acid, wet sulfur compound, wet ammonia, especially sensitive to stress cracking under stress and to de-zinc in a stress-free condition.

 

Typical uses Mechanical and electrical components, screws, clamps, connection plugs.

Heat treatments:

The Broncesval Bar generally, the free machine grade of CuZn37Pb3 equivalent to BS 2874 is used to make various brass inserts in the form of round, hexagon, square, etc. Other grades that are followed according to the custom requirements are CZ 121, CZ 131, C3604, CDA 360 and DTD 627, etc.

 

Laminated brass products are often used for decorative purposes.
