CAST NYLON | PA 6C
Available formats: Bars, Tubes, and Plates
This unmodified grade produced by an anionic polymerization casting process demonstrates characteristics similar to those of PA 66E.
Foundry products contain significantly lower stress levels, combined with high strength, good resistance to deformation and wear, resulting in dimensional precision in machining.
Cast Nylons are generally accepted as the primary engineering polymer, suitable for virtually any bearing application. By varying the polymerization conditions, the mechanical properties of the molten nylons can be modified to suit specific applications, and the performance of the basic polymer can be improved with the addition of various additives, fillers, lubricants and dyes.
Applications
Nylon (PA) 6C materials are all semi-crystalline polyamide thermoplastics with high impact resistance. The molecular structure of the material can be modified with additives to improve attributes and performance. In general, all nylons have a relatively high moisture absorption rate, which can be reduced with fillers.
General characteristics:
- Good impact resistance
- Good sliding properties
- Easy to machine
- Chemically resistant to fats and oils.
- Good insulation properties.
