PE 1000 | PE UHMW

Available formats: Bars, Tubes, and Plates

features

PE 1000 known as PE UHMW (Ultra-high molecular weight | Ultra High Molecular Weight) is polymerized with a modified Ziegler catalyst. The density decreases and the sliding friction coefficient is improved. PE UHMW is distinguished by its high impact resistance and abrasion resistance. FDA approval ensures physiological safety.

It is one of the most popular engineering plastics. It provides excellent resistance to abrasion, chemicals, impact and wear, and offers a low coefficient of friction. UHMW is also not toxic, has no smell and is highly resistant to moisture.

UHMW plastic sheet is usually machined into wear strips, chain guides and change parts, and is a popular engineering plastic in food processing and bottling operations. Specific grades of PE1000 are also used in bulk material handling applications to align ducts, hoppers and dump trucks, which helps improve product flow and prevents drag and arc.

Applications

PE 1000 or UHMWPE provides high impact and wear resistance and is commonly manufactured in scrapers, cutting boards, chain guides and wear strips. PE1000 are also FDA approved and are suitable for food contact applications, and are commonly machined into components for use in pharmaceutical applications.

Some of its Benefits are:
? Abrasion high resistance.
? Low coefficient of friction.
? Specific gravity low.
? Easy machinability
? High chemical resistance, typical of polyolefins.
? Shock resistance is good even at low temperatures.
? Being physiologically inert, it is approved for contact with food by the most important standards organizations.
? Good electrical properties
? Weatherproof.

Its applications are, thanks to the low coefficient of friction and its non-hygroscopicity make it suitable for use as a bearing or mechanical parts with low loads, even when operating in water.

Sliding guides or pump and wear parts are often manufactured with UHMWPE. It can be operated at temperatures as low as -200 ° C and can be used in cryogenics.
